De hedendaagse EN-590 diesel is niet meer zo lang houdbaar als de diesel van enkele jaren geleden. Door het sterker aantrekken van water en verwijdering van zwavel ontstaat micro-organisme in de tank, maar tevens is de natuurlijke sedimentvorming versneld. De biocomponent in de diesel lost ook in de tank over de jaren aangekoekte sedimenten weer los, zodat die ook op uw filters en in uw voertuigen terecht kunnen komen. Moderne motoren eisen daarentegen juist een schonere brandstof.

Niet alleen bij stilstaande tanks voor bijvoorbeeld de noodstroom, maar ook bij tanks met een hoge doorstroming wordt dan ook regelmatig water, sediment en micro-organisme aangetroffen bij bemonstering.

Om de intrede van vocht te verminderen, is het aan te raden een luchtdrogerset op de ontluchting te laten plaatsen. Deze droogt de lucht die de tank ingezogen wordt tijdens het tanken uit de tank, en belemmert de uitstroom van lucht niet bij het vullen van de tank met een tankwagen.

AXFS is KIWA gecertificeerd voor de BRL-K903-08 voor de installatie van bovengrondse tanksystemen, zelfreinigende tanks en filtratiesystemen.

Om er voor te zorgen dat de brandstof die u uit uw tank tankt toch altijd droog, sediment en micro-organisme vrij is, is het aan te bevelen een professioneel filter/separator te plaatsen vóór of na de afnamepomp. Dit filter dient aftapbaar voor water te zijn, zodat u bij verstopping niet in de situatie komt waar u geen diesel meer kunt tanken. Ook is een wateralarm van belang, omdat bij het niet aftappen van dat water het filterpapier nat wordt en water door gaat laten.

AXFS levert en installeert deze professionele filter/separatorsets volgens KIWA BRL-K903-08.
